THE LAPTOP VASECTOMY

So you’re into baby making these days? Congratulations. Well, before you put all that practice to work, there’s one precaution that has sparked a controversial debate. Studies have recently shown that setting computers on your lap daily without a buffer can reduce your sperm count by one-third over ten years. That’s right, you read that correctly folks—laptops can kill off your little guys and slow down their swimming.

The male body has to maintain a fixed testicular temperature for normal sperm production and development. Therefore laptops, among other things, can cause what’s known as “scrotal hyperthermia.”

Lap pads don’t even seem to make a difference. A urologist at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, found that even with a lap pad under the computer, men’s scrotal temperatures were above what was considered safe within 10 or 15 minutes, even though the men themselves might not feel a difference.

Listen up guys, get those laptops off your lap, start using your desk, and airing out your balls. Or maybe it’s time for that iPad you’ve been eyeing. Now you’ve got science to back it up.
