Yes, it’s sharp. It’s a blade and you’re taking it to your face in a shadowy, dark morning when you’re half asleep. If you’re shaving in the shower, you’re still taking a risk in all that steam—hopefully your mirror is fogless.
Whatever razor type you use is up to you, it’s all about your personal preference. Companies like Gillette have spent millions of dollars researching and perfecting the razor blade. I always say to blend technology with tradition.
PRZ TIPS:
- Stay away from disposable razors.
- Purchase a heavy, solid handle that uses a disposable blade.
- If your blade is dull, don’t be cheap. Buy a new one. It’s your face and life is too short, so stay away from that crap that supposedly sharpens your razor.
- Dull razor blades cause unnecessary nicks and ingrown hairs.
- If you use a weighted handle, you’ll be able to take better passes at the proper angles, as opposed to your skin getting caught and cut on your blade.
- Have you noticed how expensive razors are nowadays? Most of the time at the local pharmacy, they’re behind the counter because people are like “fuck it, I’m going to steal me some pricy razors.” Regardless, if you use cheap razors on your face, it’ll only result in nicks and cuts. There are many great razors out there to choose from, so don’t cheapen out.
