01 Sep HOW TO MAKE CLEANING EASIER WHEN YOU HAVE KIDS
Dads, here is a little advice that will make cleaning time easier on you and keep your family safe.
1. Remove shoes at the door
This is a quick way to minimize all of the dirt and bacteria that gets carried into the living space. Being proactive about this will save you time cleaning up muddy footprints. Designate a place for shoes to live or for any other clutter that might accumulate at the front door.
2. A little goes a long way with cleaners
Read the directions—most cleaners are pretty concentrated. You can dilute the harshness with water, which will save money too. This’ll also cut down on what you put in your air space.
3. Do not buy antibacterial soap
Recent studies have shown the ingredient Triclosan does more harm than good to the body.
4. Avoid scents
Avoid scented laundry detergents as they can cause irritations on the skin. It isn’t necessary for these chemicals touch our bodies, especially a growing one.
5. Use microfiber cloths
Stop filling the trash bin and our landfills with paper towels. Purchase microfiber cloths that you can wash and reuse between cleans.
6. Clean as you go
If you clean directly after meals or after one playtime activity, it’s much easier to stay on top of cleaning. It’s easier said than done, but it’s a good strategy to work into your routine.
