Want to make it special this year? Remember, romance is all in the little things. Here are six for sure ways to make a big impression without breaking the bank.

1. Schedule time

Don’t overbook yourself day of. Make sure to leave ample time for pre date grooming and visualizations of how perfect the evening will be. Your usual back-to-back could leave you feeling rushed instead of romantic.

2. Date on, phone off

Or at least on silent. Let your eyes, ears, and fingers roam in other ways. Your lover is worth your full attention.

3. Deliver flowers

Flowers are great, but if you’re meeting your love out, don’t bring them with you. Instead, have them delivered the day before to her work or home for a romantic surprise.

4. Don’t forget the card

A handwritten card means more today than it did yesterday. Give one. Avoid cheesy Hallmark cards and opt for a blank-inside. Write from the heart and let your words be the reason everyone gets lucky.

5. Cook
